The 35th Regional Conference of the IFLA Europe, hosted by the Hungarian Association of Landscape Architects (HALA) will be held in Budapest on 17-18 October, 2024 with the theme Plan(e)tscape.

As the most important annual event for the European Landscape Architecture profession, the thematic call of the conference intends to highlight the importance of our profession deeply rooted in nature, to draw attention to plants' multifunctionality and diverse applications to combat contemporary environmental challenges. We are convinced that innovative landscape planning and design combined with conscious plant application can contribute significantly to a sustainable and healthy vision of our Plan(e)tscape. We invite you to share teaching, research, or practice perspectives on past, present, and future plant use in professional experiences. We encourage discussions on system thinking and innovation capacities for plant use in a climate change scenario.

We believe landscape architecture is one of the key professions capable of providing solutions for the current situation. The Plan(e)tscape conference aims to emit a positive tone, highlighting creative solutions, countering the increasingly prevalent doomsday mood, and outlining an active, forward-looking, and optimistic vision of the future for not only the profession but the entire society.
